17th Sept 10.30 am..Macmillan Coffee Morning at St. Edmund’s Come along and

                                        enjoy a lovely morning with friends, delicious cakes and our

                                        raffle – all while helping to raise vital funds for Macmillan

                                        Cancer Support. Donations of cakes and raffle prizes would be

                                        very much appreciated. If you are able to help out on the day,

                                        please contact Lucy via WhatsApp. Everyone is very welcome –

                                         we’d love to see you there! 


19th Sept 13.30 pm Synodality focus group in the Narthex at Sacred Heart

.............................................Church, Waterlooville. The diocese has asked that we collect a

                                        few people from our parish to discuss the questions on

                                        synodality to feed back to a diocesan meeting in November.  For

                                         the questions see the 13th Sept newsletter.

                                         If you would like to contribute to this, please email,

                                        listening and discerning process, places will be limited and

                                        given on a first come-first served basis.


19th Sept 4.00 pm....Justice and Peace Group meeting at Sacred Heart Parish

.............................................Centre, .Waterlooville. As part of this Season of Creation our

                                        Jesus Prince of Peace J&P group invite you to a meeting to pray,

                                        learn and discuss together how we can act to care for our

                                         common home. We have invited Jenny Lelean from Caritas

                                        Portsmouth who will share information about the new Diocesan

                                        Environmental Strategy. Look forward to welcoming as many of

                                        you as possible. We will be finished in plenty of time for those

                                       wishing to attend evening Mass.


26th Sept  4.00 pm  Celebrating becoming one community: JESUS PRINCE OF

..............................................PEACE at Sacred Heart, Waterlooville. Mass followed by

                                         refreshments in the Parish Centre. We warmly invite all

                                         parishioners to come together as we celebrate. This is a joyful

                                         moment in the life of our parish, and we would love to see as

                                         many people as possible from St. Patrick, St Coman, St. Paul,

                                         St. Joseph, Ss Thomas, St. Michael, St Edmund and Sacred

                                         Heart. Come and celebrate this new beginning together as one

                                         family in Christ.

                                          Have you ever done an Alpha course? If not, this could be your

                                           time? Or maybe you know someone you would like to invite.

                                          The Alpha course is a free course for anyone who is interested

                                         in exploring the Christian faith. No prior knowledge is

                                          necessary – likewise, prior knowledge does not exclude you! You

                                         will receive a warm welcome at Alpha and enjoy a meal with

                                          your group, watch a video about the Christian message and

                                         then have some time for discussion and exploration of faith.

                                         There's no pressure or judgment - it's just an informal and safe

                                         space to explore what we are thinking.

8th Oct.....10. 00 am...Mass for the Sick at St Edmund, Horndean. You are cordially

                                         invited to add your name to the sheet at St. Edmunds or contact

                                         Sue in the parish office at Waterlooville. We will have coffee/tea

                                        and biscuits after Mass followed by lunch at 12noon. Sue

                                        Woodward and I look forward to welcoming you all.


11th Oct......3.00 pm ....Church Fundraising Concert at Sacred Heart, Waterlooville

                                    The well-known Hampshire Police Male Voice Choir will be

                                         holding a concert to help raise funds for the parish. Tickets

                                         available online via www.hampshirepolicechoir.org.uk or on the

                                        door. £10 per  person. A couple of parishioners are members of

                                         the choir  who will be singing all types of music including songs

                                        from the shows, hits from the sixties as well as a selection of

                                        sacred classics. There is even a sea shanty made famous by

                                        Fisherman’s Friends included in the programme. Do come along

                                        and enjoy the unique sound of a male voice choir while at the

                                        same time helping to boost the church finances!


31st Oct                      Visit of the Relics of St Gerard Majella to St. John’s Cathedral,

                                        Portsmouth PO1 3HG on Saturday 31 October.

                                        There will be a Mass at 12.15pm, celebrated by Bishop Philip, with

                                        the relics available for personal prayer from 11am. There will also

                                        be an opportunity to receive a blessing with the relics after

                                        Mass. St. Gerard is the patron saint of mothers, couples trying to

                                        conceive, those seeking work and those wishing to make a good

                                        confession. This is a wonderful opportunity to come and pray

                                        with the relics of this much-loved saint and all are warmly

                                        welcome.
